The NECC is a REGIONAL early childhood collaborative.
This is important as there is power in numbers and working as a region allows us to share resources, experiences, ideas and skills when working on behalf of our children.
The NECC looks at all areas that could affect young children. We have developed a community plan in the areas of mental & physical health, safety and early care & education for all children in our four communities (view our community plan under “about us” tab).
Our mission is to promote effective programs and policies to address early childhood education, the social, emotional and physical health of children and family support and engagement. The NECC hosts meetings and events throughout the year that are open to all community members.
We are made up of a wide variety of interested community members, including parents & caregivers, school superintendents, librarians, social workers, health care professionals, early childhood providers, community agencies, businesses and local leaders. We believe our work will help create a brighter future for everyone in Northeastern Connecticut and we invite you to join us. ALL community members are welcome.
We are funded through a partnership grant from the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund (GMF), the State Department of Education (SDE), The Children’s Fund of Connecticut, and our local school departments.
Get involved…because early childhood matters
