About Us
The Northeast Early Childhood Council (NECC) is made up of the communities of Brooklyn, Canterbury, Killingly, Plainfield, Putnam, Sterling, & Thompson.
The Northeast Early Childhood Council (NECC) serves as the Local Governance Partner (LGP) for Early Start CT programs in our seven towns, working in partnership with the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) to connect families to resources and strengthen early childhood services as the region’s early childhood hub.
We work together to ensure all children, prenatal through age ten, in our communities are healthy, safe, and successful learners. We bring together all key stakeholders who play a crucial role in the safety, mental & physical development, and education of our children.
All community members are welcome to join our community table conversations, such as childcare providers, parents, caregivers, agencies, organization, businesses, educators, schools & local government, who have an interest in early childhood and working together on the mission of the NECC.
